(Note: for 2 passengers pick up your car vehicle this morning). Upon arrival in Hervey Bay, transfer by ferry to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island for your resort accommodation.
06 June 4WD TOUR OF FRASER ISLAND Friday (B) Breakfast at the resort. This morning, enjoy a 4WD tour of the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island. Explore through rainforest and sandy beaches on your 4WD adventure. Afternoon is free at leisure. 07 June FRASER ISLAND TO ROCKHAMPTON - BOTANICAL GARDENS (Drive) Saturday (B) Breakfast at the resort. This morning,
transfer by ferry to the mainland for your journey to Rockhampton. Stop at
the Botanical Gardens before arriving in the town of Rockhampton for your
overnight stay.
08 June ROCKHAMPTON TO HAMILTON ISLAND VIA MACKAY & AIRLIE BEACH Sunday (Drive/Launch) (B) Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, depart Rockhampton for your journey to Airlie Beach via the township of Mackay. Upon arrival into Airlie Beach, transfer to Shute Harbour for your launch transfer to Hamilton Island.
09 June DAY AT LEISURE ON HAMILTON ISLAND Monday (B) Breakfast at the hotel. Today is free to explore Hamilton Island at leisure.Hamilton Island is situated in the heart of the Whitsundays, lying in the Coral Sea between the Queensland coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Activities on offer include Great Barrier Reef cruising, catamaran and yacht sailing, go-kart racing, fishing, snorkelling, waterskiing, windsurfing and diving. 10 June HAMILTON ISLAND TO TOWNSVILLE (Launch/Drive) Tuesday Breakfast at the hotel. This morning return to the mainland by launch. Depart (B) Airlie Beach and travel to Townsville. Situated on the North-eastern coastline of Queensland, the city of Townsville is 1359 kilometres north of the state's capital of Brisbane, and is the largest tropical city in Northern Australia with a growing population over 140 000. Situated within the 'dry tropics', the city basks in an almost unbroken spell of warmth and sunshine - providing the perfect opportunity to experience life in the tropics!
11 June TOWNSVILLE TO MISSION BEACH (Drive) Wednesday (B) Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, depart Townsville and travel to lovely Mission Beach with its magnificent golden sand for your overnight stay.
12 June MISSION BEACH TO CAIRNS (Drive) via ATHERTON TABLELANDS – Thursday KURANDA TOURING – SKYRAIL – TJAPUKAI ABORIGINAL CULTURE PARK (B) Breakfast at the hotel. This morning board your coach to Cairns via
the Atherton Tablelands where you will see the amazing Curtain Fig Tree
and the volcanic crater Lake Barine.
13 June GREAT BARRIER REEF WORLD HERITAGE PARK Friday (B, L) Breakfast at the hotel. (Note: for 2 passengers, drop off your
rental vehicle early this morning). This morning board a high-speed
catamaran. Your destination is the unique wilderness of the Outer Great
Barrier Reef. 14 June BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS – FULL DAY DAINTREE AND CAPE Saturday TRIBULATION TOUR (B, PL) This morning, visit the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary to experience the famous Breakfast with the Birds in the undercover restaurant. Following breakfast, wander through the three areas within the habitat. These include the Rainforest Aviary, housing over 70 species of birds and animals. A boardwalk takes you through different levels of the rain forest to view the unique Victoria's Riflebird, the amazingly coloured Eclectus Parrots and many more. At the Koala and Wetlands Walk, experience up close the endangered Cassowary, Koalas, Waterbirds and even a Fruit Bat colony. In the Wallaby and Crocodile Area view the many species of Kangaroo and Wallaby. Crocodiles, both Saltwater and Freshwater, are displayed in a natural environment. The lake is home for many species of Waterbird. Depart the Rainforest Habitat and drive alongside the Marlin Coast's idyllic deserted beaches, imposing coastal ranges and lush fields of sugarcane to the infamous Daintree River. Cross the river by cable ferry and travel on into the primeval jungle of the Daintree rainforest to Cape Tribulation. Take a walk beside a jungle creek and marvel at nature's adaptability as the vegetation changes from freshwater rainforest to saltwater mangroves. Observe the intriguing plants and animals of these two special and complex ecosystems. Feel the magic of the oldest rainforest on planet earth. After lunch board a river boat to cruise on mangrove lined jungle creeks. An excellent chance to see and photograph crocodiles in the wild.
